Sorry I've neglected my recipe posting. It gets crazy and I forget to take pictures of our food, and I like pictures with the recipes. I have been loving my Pioneer Woman cookbook lately, so here are a few things I've made most recently that I think you should try:.
Chicken Pot Pie (she calls it turkey, but in her cookbook it is chicken, but it's the same, and it's delicious!!)
Meatballs
Steak (simple, and perfect)
Enchiladas
Spaghetti & Meatballs (even my kids were begging for more meatballs!)
Mashed Potatoes
Chocolate Sheet Cake
Breakfast Puffs (except I only dip the top in the cinnamon mixture, otherwise it's way too sugary for me)
Cowboy Calzones (sorry, couldn't find this one on her website, but they are good)
. . . . . and much, much, much more. If you haven't purchased the cookbook already, you should. It makes my mouth water just reading it. Yum. If you have, what's your favorite recipe??
Oh, and I almost forgot - the cinnamon rolls. Holy crap. I almost died reading how much butter and sugar. I put much less in the filling, and they were still to die for.
ReplyDeleteAnd Torrie, today's recipe for sloppy joes made me think of the Adam Sandler tape you had in college - sloppy joes, slop slop-py joes. It made me laugh.
sloppy joes made me laugh....good times
ReplyDeletethose cinnamon rolls look so good, could I do those? if they don't turn out I've wasted 8 cups of flour along with all the other ingredients, I guess I will try half the recipe. You inspire me to cook and well the snow outside makes it so it's really the only other thing to do besides clean house
ReplyDeleteSo everything I have tried that you suggested or posted has turned out excellent so trust your cooking judgement Mel!! :) Actually I went on the Pioneer Woman blog and pulled up a recipe for Chinese Beef Broccoli. We tried it last week and it was so yummy! I love being able to see the pictures so I get an idea of what needs to be done. Anyways, that is my suggestion for a good recipe. We are always looking for asian insired meals so if you ever get a good one send it my way. This week I am going to try an Asian Orange Chicken.(I got it from allrecipes.com) I'll post the recipe if it is good.
ReplyDeleteTorrie, you could totally make them. I didn't even use my mixer, just my big soup pot on the stove. They were quite simple, and oh so good. Give it a try. I've wasted many a bags of flour in my cooking experiences - that's how we learn :)
ReplyDeleteAmelia, I'm glad you made that beef broccoli. I've been wanting to try it, and now I will for sure. And let us know how the orange chicken goes - I love orange chicken!
